Actually Achieve your Goals

Goals. They are something we’ve been told to set since we were in elementary school. They are important too! Whether you set goals for your personal health and development, relationships or business; they give us something to be excited about and to work for.

There are many types of goals we can set. Big goals, small goals, medium goals, SMART goals and even impossible goals are necessary to set. I have big goals for developing a new mindset and becoming physically stronger. I have small goals each day that serve as checkpoints to reach my big goals. I set SMART goals for my business to keep me grounded and focused on what needs to have my attention for a while. But, my favorite goals are my impossible goals. Yep, I said it. I set impossible goals. Sounds crazy to say considering I am working on improving my mindset, right? Yet, these goals get me the most excited! I set goals so big, wild and crazy that they are as far from a SMART goal as you can get. Then, I work for them. The work is fun because wouldn’t it be the best thing ever to reach these goals? The stress isn’t there because I know they are so far from attainable that it isn’t fair to put that pressure on myself. However, working for these impossible goals has gotten me farther than just working for SMART goals.

So, my first challenge for you is to set an impossible goal and SMART goals because they are both important.

Next, you need an action plan. Oftentimes we set goals and forget about them until we randomly remember and then get disappointed because we aren’t on track. If you truly want to achieve something, make it happen. Set the SMART goal and work backwards on your calendar to create a set of checkpoints or mile markers to track your progress and keep you moving forward.

Finally, find an accountability partner. Tell someone else about your goals and have them share theirs with you. Keep each other on track and don’t let one another use excuses for why they haven’t made progress.

I urge you to take on these simple steps. I want to see you and your ranch make progress in 2022, so let’s both follow this outline and make it happen.

  1. Set an impossible goal.

  2. Set SMART goals.

  3. Create an action plan.

  4. Find an accountability partner.

I’d love to hear what your impossible or SMART goal is for 2022 whether it’s personal or business related.
