Cheers to 3 Years

Will you celebrate with me? Today marks 3 YEARS of sharing the voices and stories of ranchers and difference makers in our industry.

The night I launched I was fueled by the encouraging words of Dr. Tom Field, Halle Ramsey and Hannah Klitz who all told me to stop keeping my draft to myself and publish it. It was time to JUST START!

I blankly stared at my computer screen afraid to click the final button that would make my first episode available to the world. I was shaking. My heart was racing. Fear and anxiety began to creep in when I reminded myself that it is better to live knowing that I tried and failed than to live with the regret of not trying at all… so I hit the button.

A lot has changed in the past 3 years but the values of CCC have remained true. Here are 3 ranching lessons I’ve picked up on from every last person that has been on my show and RancherMind events. ⬇️

Lessons Learned after 3 Years of Hosting a Ranching Podcast

1. Stop looking for a magic solution. There is no secret solution, no one size fits all approach, no magic product and no magic program to make ranching a breeze.

Instead… keep it simple. Look at what’s available in your regions, know the goals of your operation, constantly keep learning, seek help in the process and enjoy the ups and downs of this life and business we live out each day.

2. Treat your ranch like a business. You might immediately think of finances and you need to do that too BUT treat it like a business in that you are willing to adapt, keep up with the times, have goals, have direction and FIND YOUR IDENTITY IN YOURSELF AND NOT JUST YOUR WORK.

3. The people of the beef industry are what make it so great. Keep offering a helping hand, keep an open mind, keep pushing through your toughest days and keep laughing. Our community is strong and we need to keep it that way.
