Embracing the March Madness
March 01… goodness gracious where did January and February go? Time flies when you are having fun, right?
The first two months of the year were filled with a lot of adventures and new beginnings for me but I’d be lying if I said that I look forward to the month of March. I am not saying March is a bad month by any means but it is usually so hectic and chaotic I psych myself out before it even arrives!
March brings bull sales, calving, spring, spring blizzards, meetings, banquets and a whole lot of busyness!
This post isn’t going to be all doom and gloom about March and the stress it can bring. This is about ways to work through the busyness. I am working through it with you too!
Mindset
I’ve been actively developing my mindset and putting myself in a position to control my thoughts to achieve desired results. The truth…it’s been working for about 4 months now!
I am choosing to think about March differently this year. Instead of thinking March is stressful and too busy, I am saying it is full of opportunities because that makes me excited to take on the month and the challenges it brings!
Gratitude
I start and end each day with gratitude and reflection. It doesn’t take more than 60 seconds of my time unless I want it to. For me it is usually a quick prayer thanking God for another day and the little blessings he brought to me throughout the day.
It brings added peace to my life and that’s something I want for everyone.
Mental Health
1 and 2 are key components to this one. However, part of improving or maintaining mental health means admitting that it is important and changes can be made. During March, I am being extra conscious of what I am feeling and knowing that the strongest thing I can do is ask for help in this area when I need it.
Physical Health
I am workout junkie and my college lifestyle makes this a little different for me as opposed to when I am on the ranch. However, I am making an effort to move and stretch my body every day no matter where I am at. 3 minutes of simple stretching and breathing always makes a difference in my morning.
So, I am here with you and making changes too. March may be a bunch of madness but it’s all in how you look at taking on the month!
