The Value of the Genesis

The genesis…

I often downplay the value of the start, because I’m so focused on where I want to go. However, I‘ve been asked how I got started in the beef industry more than normal during Q1 of 2022, so I did some thinking on it.

Here is my #beefstory!

I must’ve been around 3 or 4 years old when I got my first cow. Her name was Foxy and she had some BIG fluffy ears. She gave me a calf every year and that meant…

I got to name the calves every year.

I got to help tag the calves every year.

I got make breeding decisions (eventually).

I got to fix fence, feed and do all the other day-to-day activities that come with ranching.

It started with naming and watching the calves get tagged but it progressed and my responsibilities grew…and so did my passion.

I love my story and now have a greater appreciation for the START of my story. It’s a huge part of who I’ve become and who I want to be.
