Connection Leads to Greatness

Just a few weeks ago I began the final year of my undergraduate degree. This seems a little crazy to me as I help freshmen get involved in new clubs and point them in the direction of different buildings on campus. I’ve reflected a lot on my time in Nebraska and I attribute most of my growth to building relationships and connections.

This includes but is not limited to connections with friends, classmates, professors, interviewees, advertisers, mentors and fans.

If you have read this far, you may be wondering where I am going with this as the title says “Connection Leads to Greatness”. Well, I say that because building relationships and connections are the pieces of advice that are most often given to me. It’s not new advice. In fact, every person I’ve interviewed has achieved greatness in some form and attributes their success to having great connections with mentors, family or industry professionals.

This makes me think about how small the beef industry is and how vital it is to connect with one another. When we connect, we listen, learn and grow in a way that is somewhat undefinable.

This doesn’t have to be going to conventions every week. Not one person has time for that. This can simply be connecting with your neighbor, connecting through a story via podcast, calling an old friend or going to conventions when time allows.

I challenge you to answer 3 questions as I round out this week’s post.

  1. What’s one connection that has impacted your life?

  2. Who can you connect with today?

  3. What does achieving greatness look like for you?

Feel free to keep your answers to yourself or share your answers in the comments or on my social media pages.

Thanks for reading!
